देशका विभिन्न ठाउँहरूवाट विभिन्न दैवीय प्रकोपले पीडित भएका कारणले सुकुम्वासी जीवन व्यतीत गर्न वाध्य भएका जनतालाई तत्कालीन नेपाल पुनर्वास कम्पनी प्रा.लि. योजना कार्यालय, कञ्चनपुरवाट जग्गा प्राप्त गरी २०३४ सालमा यस क्षेत्रमा स्थायी बसोवास गर्दै आउने क्रममा नेपाल पुनर्वास कम्पनी प्रा.लि. कञ्चनपुरले साविक वाइसी विचवा गाउँ विकास समिति अन्तर्गत वडा नं. ८ र ९ को बीचमा पर्ने गरी (हाल पुनर्वास नगरपालिका—११) ६ विगाह जमिन विद्यालय स्थापनाका लागि उपलब्ध गराई तत्कालीन योजना प्रमुख श्री बुद्धि बहादुर बुढाथोकी ज्यू लगायतका स्थानीय अभिभावक श्री सुरेन्द्र थापा, श्री पहलमान तामाङ, श्री बल बहादुर तामाङ, श्री धर्म सिंह खडका, श्री बामदेव घिमिरे, श्री गोमती सुनार, गोमादेवी पाठक लगायतका अन्य समाजसेवी, बुद्धिजीवी तथा शिक्षाप्रेमीको प्रस्ताव तथा अग्रसरतामा उहाँहरूकै अथक प्रयासबाट मिति २०३४ साल माघ २३ गतेको शुभ दिनबाट कक्षा १ देखि ३ सम्म कक्षा सञ्चालन सुरु गरी पुनर्वास ग्रामीण आवास कम्पनीबाट २०३४।११।१० गते विद्यालय सञ्चालन अनुमति प्राप्त गर्दैै सोही मितिमा सुदूरपश्चिम क्षेत्रीय निर्देशनालय नेपालगञ्जवाट समेत विद्यालय सञ्चालन अनुमति प्राप्त गरि साविक बाइसी विचवा गा.वि.स. वडा नं. ८ अमरबस्तीमा श्री राष्ट्रिय प्राथमिक विद्यालय, अमरवस्ती नामाकरण भई यस विद्यालयको स्थापना भयो । जसको सञ्चालन र रेखदेखका लागि समाजसेवी श्री सुरेन्द्र वहादुर थापा ज्यूलाई संयोजक तोकियो । यसै अवस्थामा खुला चौरमा कक्षा सञ्चालन भयो ।
Due to various natural disasters affecting people from different parts of the country, many were compelled to live a landless life. To rehabilitate them, the then Nepal Resettlement Company Pvt. Ltd., Kanchanpur Plan Office, provided land in 1977 (2034 B.S.). As a result, people began to settle permanently in this area. The Nepal Resettlement Company Pvt. Ltd., Kanchanpur, allocated 6 bighas of land between Ward Nos. 8 and 9 of the then Baishi Bichwa Village Development Committee (currently Ward No. 11 of Resettlement Municipality) for the establishment of a school. With the initiative and proposal of the then Planning Chief Mr. Buddhi Bahadur Budhathoki, along with local guardians Mr. Surendra Thapa, Mr. Pahalman Tamang, Mr. Bal Bahadur Tamang, Mr. Dharma Singh Khadka, Mr. Bamdev Ghimire, Mrs. Gomati Sunar, Mrs. Gomadevi Pathak, and other social workers, intellectuals, and education enthusiasts, the school was established through their tireless efforts. On the auspicious day of 23rd Magh 2034 B.S., classes from Grade 1 to 3 were started. The school received operational permission from the Rural Housing Company on 10th Falgun 2034 B.S., and on the same date, approval was also granted by the Far-Western Regional Directorate, Nepalgunj. Thus, the school was established in Amar Basti, Ward No. 8 of the then Baishi Bichwa VDC, under the name Shree Rastriya Primary School, Amar Basti. Mr. Surendra Bahadur Thapa was appointed as the coordinator for its operation and management. At that time, classes were conducted in an open field.
विद्यालय समुदायको गहना हो भन्ने मान्यतालाई उच्च सम्मान गर्दै नव स्थापित विद्यालयलाई यहाँका जनताले उच्च उपलब्धि र सामाजिक समृद्धि र शैक्षिक उन्नयनको उत्कृष्ट गोरेटोको रुपमा अङ्गीकार गरी यस विद्यालयको सर्वाङ्गीण विकासका लागि हातेमालो गर्दै अगाडि वढ्दै गएको देखिन्छ । विद्यालयलाई शैक्षिक, भौतिक, आर्थिक र सामाजिक रुपमा सक्षम र सबल बनाउनका निमित्त यहाँका सम्पूर्ण वुद्धिजीवी, शिक्षाप्रेमी र समाजसेवीको संयुक्त पहल र प्रयासमा ६ कोठे काठको भवन तथा १ कोठे कार्यालय काठ र माटोको चिनाइ र टायलको छाना बनाई २०३४/०३५ मा भवन निर्माण गरियो । समयको गतिसँगै शैक्षिक सत्र २०४०/०४१ मा ४ र २०४१/०४२ मा कक्षा ५ को अनुमति प्राप्त गरी ५ जना शिक्षकको दरवन्दीका सहायताले पठनपाठन कार्य अगाडि बढ्यो । विद्यालयको आवश्यकता र विकसित सामाजिक धारणाले गर्दा वि.सं. २०४८/०४९ सालमा सात कोठे पक्की भवन निर्माणका लागि तत्कालीन वि.व्य.स. अध्यक्ष श्री प्रेम बहादुर थापा र प्र.अ. श्री खेमानन्द उपाध्याय गौतम लगायत शिक्षक कर्मचारीहरूवाट ५००।– देखि दुई महिना सम्मको पारिश्रमिक एवं स्थानीय जनतावाट रु. ५१।– देखि यथासक्य आर्थिक सहयोग सङ्कलन गरी वि.सं. २०५०/०५१ सालमा सातकोठे पक्की भवनको जग सम्म तयार गरियो । आर्थिक समस्याले निर्माण कार्य रोकिएको अवस्थामा स्थानीय जनता तथा विभिन्न सरकारी तथा गैरसरकारी संघ संस्थाको सहयोगमा २०५८/०५९ सालमा उक्त सात कोठे भवनको निर्माण कार्य सम्पन्न गरियो । समयको प्रवाहसँगै २०५७/०५८ सालमा आधारभूत प्राथमिक शिक्षा परियोजनाको अनुदान तथा जाइकाको सहयोगमा क्रमशः दुइ–दुई कोठे भवनको निर्माण कार्य सम्पन्न भयो ।
२०६१/०६२ तिर विद्यालय सुधार योजना अन्तर्गतको तथा विद्यालयमा रहेको स्रोतको समेत परिचालन गरी थप एक दुई कोठे भवन निर्माण गर्दै २०६३/०६४ मा थप एककोठे भवन निर्माण गरी पठनपाठन कार्य सहज बनाउन आवश्यक व्यवस्था गर्न सकियो र आर्थिक वर्ष २०७१/०७२ मा जि.शि.का., गा.वि.स. र विद्यालयको लगानीवाट पूर्ण पक्की भवन निर्माण गरिएको छ । विद्यालयको महत्वपूर्ण पक्ष शैक्षिक समृद्धि नै हो । वि.सं. २०३४ मा कक्षा १ देखि ३ सम्मको अध्यापन अनुमति प्राप्त पाएको यस विद्यालयले वि.सं. २०४०/०४१ मा कक्षा ४ र २०४१/०४२ मा ५ को अनुमति प्राप्त गरी राष्ट्रिय प्राथमिक विद्यालय अमरवस्ती बन्न पुग्यो । यसै गरी यहाँको शैक्षिक आवश्यकतालाई मध्यनजर गर्दै निम्न माध्यमिक तह सञ्चालन गर्नु मुनासिब देखिएकोले वि.सं. २०६२ मा कक्षा ६ र २०६३ मा ७ र २०६४ मा कक्षा ८ को अध्यापन अनुमति प्राप्त गरी शैीक्षक वर्ष २०६४/०६५ मा निम्न माध्यमिक तहमा अध्यापन गर्न तीन राहत दरबन्दी समेत प्राप्त भएको देखिन्छ । समय वढ्दै जाँदा यस विद्यालयले वि.सं. २०६६ मा कक्षा ९ सञ्चालन गरी २०६७ मा कक्षा १० को अनुमति प्राप्त गरी २०७१/०७२ मा माध्यमिक तहको स्वीकृत दरवन्दी प्राप्त गरी श्री राष्ट्रिय माध्यमिक विद्यालय सञ्चालित भयो ।
Respecting the belief that “a school is the jewel of the community,” the newly established school was embraced by the local people as a path toward high achievement, social prosperity, and educational advancement. For the holistic development of the school, intellectuals, education lovers, and social workers jointly constructed a six-room wooden building and a one-room office with wooden and mud walls and tiled roofing in 2034/035 B.S. With time, in the academic session of 2040/041 B.S., permission was granted to run Grade 4, and in 2041/042 B.S., Grade 5 was added. Teaching activities progressed with the support of five approved teacher positions. Due to growing needs and social development, in 2048/049 B.S., construction of a seven-room concrete building was initiated under the leadership of then VDC Chairman Mr. Prem Bahadur Thapa and Headmaster Mr. Khemnanda Upadhyay Gautam. Teachers contributed two months’ salary ranging from Rs. 500 onwards, while local people collected financial support starting from Rs. 51. By 2050/051 B.S., the foundation of the seven-room building was completed. Although construction halted due to financial constraints, with the support of local people and various governmental and non-governmental organizations, the building was completed in 2058/059 B.S. Similarly, in 2057/058 B.S., with grants from the Basic Primary Education Project and support from JICA, two additional two-room buildings were constructed.
Around 2061/062 B.S., under the School Improvement Plan and mobilization of local resources, another two-room building was constructed, followed by a one-room building in 2063/064 B.S., making teaching more convenient. In fiscal year 2071/072 B.S., a fully concrete building was constructed with investments from the District Education Office, VDC, and the school itself. The most important aspect of the school is educational prosperity. Starting with permission to run Grades 1 to 3 in 2034 B.S., the school gradually expanded to Grade 4 in 2040/041 B.S. and Grade 5 in 2041/042 B.S., becoming Shree Rastriya Primary School, Amar Basti. Considering the growing educational needs, permission was granted to run lower secondary levels: Grade 6 in 2062 B.S., Grade 7 in 2063 B.S., and Grade 8 in 2064 B.S. In the academic year 2064/065 B.S., three relief teacher positions were also approved. With time, Grade 9 was introduced in 2066 B.S., and Grade 10 in 2067 B.S. In 2071/072 B.S., the school received approved teacher positions for the secondary level, officially becoming Shree Rastriya Secondary School.
